The alli Experience, Multimedia Show Introducing diet pill, Opens in Manhattan

The alli Experience, a new multimedia show introducing diet pill alli (low-dose Xenical), opened a three-week run on May 21st at 20 Union Square East in Manhattan.

The show is described by GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare as a "one-time event," so if you don't catch it during its run in New York City, you won't be "experiencing" it in a city new you.

One might wonder why Manhattan is the only venue for this show. Perhaps Glaxo has concluded that overweight individuals in New York are more pressed for cash than dieters in other cities, since visitors to the alli Experience get a free copy of Glaxo's book, "Are you losing it," which is selling everywhere else for $5.99.

However, the "alli Experience" seems essentially one more tool -- like the TV commercials now running -- designed to drive more traffic to Glaxo's website, myalli.com.

For those just dying for a five-minute commercial introducing the "alli Experience," it can be viewed at alli Experience video.
